Beautiful living room

Newil&Bau Story

HOME IS MORE THAN JUST WALLS AND A CEILING

At N&B, we want to make homes with a soul. That soul is born from the design, with the resident at the center.

Newil & Bau is a residential development company founded in Helsinki in 2020 with a mission to make the world a more beautiful and sustainable place to live – one building at a time. Together with our capital partners, we have already delivered over 1,500 beautiful homes.

Our approach is based on holistic and scalable concept, where newil is in the details. Each of our developments is architecturally unique, yet all offer a high-quality and recognisable Newil & Bau living experience.

Our journey so far

  • 2025

All 167 apartments of Auratum Asunnot’s flagship project Primus were completed in Kerttulinmäki, Turku.

  • 2024

We expanded into Turku by acquiring the business of Auratum Asunnot, founded in 2004 and a Finnish pioneer in customer-centric, high-quality living.

We completed an Series A funding round, led by the Puolimatka family’s family office, Rausanne.

Over 200 apartments were completed in Solaris, 76&Piha, and Meander. Despite a downturn in the housing market, the majority were sold.

Our sales grew by more than 50% year-on-year, and our development pipeline expanded to over 1,000 apartments.

  • 2023

Due to a market downturn, apartment sales declined. However, we leveraged market conditions to grow our development pipeline to over 800 apartments, including the acquisition of approximately 4 hectares of land in Otaniemi, Espoo, togetherwith the Hartwall family’s family office.

  • 2022

Steven Holl laid the cornerstone of Meander, marking the start of its sales and construction.

The restoration of Alvar Aalto’s Engineers’ House was completed.

Our apartment sales doubled once again to €80 million, and our development pipeline surpassed 500 apartments.

  • 2021

We launched new developments, including our flagship project Meander, acquired together with Alma Property Partners and designed by the world-renowned Steven Holl Architects. Meander generated exceptional interest: over 3,700 people joinedthe pre-list, and nearly 600 reservations were made for its 115 apartments.

Our apartment sales doubled to €40 million, and our development pipeline grew to over 300 apartments.

  • 2020

N&B was founded in Helsinki by strategy consultants Petri and Mikko, together with real estate investment professional Henrik.

We created our holistic five-point design philosophy, which continues to guide our work today.

The first N&B homes were unveiled in the summer of 2020. The response exceeded all expectations: both Alvar Aalto’s Engineers’ House and Ted Schauman’s Tower sold out within hours.
